IT’S A BOOM FOR SALOON

Perhaps there’s a rebirth of the four-door saloon happening. Last week Honda announced a Civic saloon, and this week it’s Mercedes with a four-door saloon version of its new A-Class. It’s a car that’s likely to be a big seller in China where this format is very popular. The A-Class Saloon will go on sale in the UK, too, and is being launched at the Paris motor show in October, with a general launch taking place at the end of the year. Mercedes promises classleading rear space and generous luggage capacity.
