HUNDREDS OF STARS
ENGLAND’S Test stars such as Joe Root (left) and Ben Stokes are set to play as many as four games in the new ‘The Hundred’ tournament.
Suggestions they would just be used for ‘marketing purposes’ have been ditched by the organisers. They know the first week of the tournament will have all eyes on it and the top players will have their schedules cleared.
It was thought they would then remain on England duty with Test cricket taking priority. But Mirror Sport understands all England players will be made available for the final should their team get there.
More details are expected in September, including what other cricket will be played during the tournament.
