LUKAKU BACKS ‘UPSET’ JOSE

- LIAM PRENDERVILLE

ROMELU LUKAKU has launched a passionate defence of Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United boss Mourinho has cut a dejected figure this summer, criticising a number of his players and suggesting the kids coming through at United are not up to the level required.

United’s transfer policy has also come under scrutiny, but Lukaku (right, with Mourinho) has defended his manager. The Reds striker said: “People need to understand we play this game to win.

“When you lose, you get angry. When he is upset, he’s the type of person that you can really see it.

“But it should be embraced as he wants to win. He shouldn’t hide his personality for a good public image.”
