Labour plan for greener fuel by 2030

LABOUR would boost the green economy by backing renewable energy firms, the Shadow Business Secretary will pledge today.

Rebecca Long-Bailey will claim the Tories have cut investment and failed to tackle an “expensive and polluting system”.

She will say: “The Government has undermined the energy industry and our green economy, scrapping big renewable projects and the innovative expertise and jobs that come with them.”

She will pledge Labour will ensure 60% of UK energy will come from zero-carbon or renewable sources by 2030.
