YOUR MEMORIES

This is a picture of my lovely dad John “Jack” Stammers. It was taken during the Second World War in Palestine when he was with the Royal Engineers. I was born six days after the war started in September 1939, but my dad didn’t see me until I was nearly five. He sadly died of pancreatic cancer at 47, far too soon.
