Stop acid tragedies

FA bosses have told Gareth Southgate they can’t pay him the “big” money (Mirror, Aug 2).

So it seems he will have to get by on his current £1.7million-a-year salary. I so feel for him! Sam Johnson, Blackpool

If anyone has any doubts about how this Tory government is destroying our emergency services, they should watch 999: What’s Your Emergency?

Please keep campaignin­g for the sale of corrosive liquids to be restricted (Mirror, Aug 3).

I worked as an analytical chemist for 43 years. As a student, I accidental­ly spilt concentrat­ed sulphuric acid on my arm. Luckily, I got to a water tap within 15 seconds, but I still remember the excruciati­ng pain.
