FOXES BOSS PUEL TAKES £10M GHEZZ
LEICESTER have sealed a £10million deal for Monaco winger Rachid Ghezzal.
The Algeria attacking midfielder, 26, who worked with Foxes boss Claude Puel at Lyon, made 33 appearances for Monaco last term with four coming in the Champions League.
Southampton and Watford were also chasing Ghezzal (above) after he helped Monaco to second place in Ligue 1 – but he has now signed a four-year contract with Leicester.
Puel said: “I’m very pleased to welcome Rachid to Leicester City.
“He’s an exciting addition to our group who will bring creativity and competition ahead of an important season for us.
“I know his qualities from Lyon, where he was in the academy, and I look forward to seeing him test himself in the Premier League.”
MAURICIO POCHETTINO is keen on Celta Vigo’s Slovakia midfielder Stanislav Lobotka. The Spurs boss knows Lobotka, 23, has a £31million release clause in his contract and wants to move on. Napoli are also interested.
IPSWICH striker Martyn Waghorn is due for a medical at Derby today. County matched a £5million bid from Middlesbrough for Waghorn, who scored 16 goals last season. Town will buy £2m Shrewsbury defender Aristote Nsiala.
