HERNANDEZ HITS BACK IN LATE SHOW

-

ONEL HERNANDEZ sent Norwich fans crazy with two late levellers.

First, with seven minutes remaining, the Cuban-born German cancelled out Jacques Maghoma’s 56th-minute opener.

Then, after sub Viv SolomonOtabor put the hosts back in front on 89 minutes, the winger (above) repeated the trick four minutes into added time, sparking joyous celebrations in the away end.

Hernandez, 25, said: “That second goal was very special. Amazing. But before that was the assist from Dennis Srbeny, a very good pass. I thank him for this. I love this game. It’s crazy.”

His goals were another headache for Birmingham boss Garry Monk, who has been able to add just one player since a transfer ban for breaching financial fair play rules was lifted.

Many Blues fans fear another battle against relegation is on the cards but Solomon-Otabor was far more optimistic.

He said: “Everyone played well against Norwich, it was a good game. Our target is to be promoted to the Premier League.”

Monk has until 5pm on Thursday to add to his squad and can bring in no more than five new faces on a permanent basis if strict conditions are met.

Monk said: “There’s no sulking or moping about, we are where we are. We have to do what we have to do.”

Canaries boss Daniel Farke admitted: “I am a bit disappointed we did not win, but a draw in the first away game is not too bad. We can live with that result.”
