Chef Jamie: I may retire in a decade
JAMIE Oliver intends to stay in the celebrity fastlane for at least a decade
The TV chef and restaurateur, 43, rose to fame with his TV series The Naked Chef in 1999.
But he has been mulling over retirement and said: “I’m contemplating what is a good use of my time and what I care about.”
His mentor Gennaro Contaldo is 69 and dad-offive Jamie added: “We think about our mortality.
“We’ve got a lot of children and we’re grateful for things and people that our lives have crossed through.”
Yet Jamie, whose Channel 4 series Jamie Cooks Italy starts on Monday, told the Radio Times: “I’ll slow down in 10 years. I’ll be exhausted by then but I’ll slow down in 2030.”
