WEST HAM are hoping Inter Milan succeed with their bid to land Luka Modric – so that they can snap up Danny Drinkwater from Chelsea.
Inter want a galactico to rival Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.
And they have offered Modric – 33 next month – a lucrative deal in an effort to tempt him away from Real Madrid.
Should they succeed it could spark a domino effect with Chelsea trying to land Inter’s 26-year-old star Matias Vecino.
Chelsea will only let Drinkwater leave – for a £3million loan fee – if his £130,000-a-week wages are met and they sign a replacement this week.
