Gayle force fires Albion Prem fight
DWIGHT GAYLE moved from Newcastle to West Brom and said he was “buzzing”.
Gayle struck 23 goals in 32 games to help Newcastle gain promotion from the Championship in 2016-17 but struggled for such form once back in the Premier League.
The former Crystal Palace forward scored six league goals last season and will now look to help Darren Moore’s West Brom back into the top flight at the first time of asking.
Gayle has arrived on loan in a swap deal with Salomon Rondon and said: “The manager attracted me. He’s really enthusiastic about my game and I’m buzzing to come down and I can’t wait to get started.”
Moore said: “This deal was in the best interests of both clubs. Dwight is a proven goalscorer in the Championship.
“He’s quick and sharp off the back of defenders and I believe he will add to our goal threat.”
