WE DON’T FEAR BIG SPENDERS

- BY DARREN LEWIS

TOTTENHAM are not scared by any club at home or in Europe despite their Premier League rivals spending big this summer, warns Danny Rose. With three days to go before the transfer window closes, they are the only club in the top flight not to make a signing. But Rose said: “Mauricio Pochettino has assembled a squad that is not afraid of anybody. “Not afraid of any individuals or any team and a squad willing to fight until the very last game of the season. “While we have that at Tottenham then we’re in with a great chance against anyone in the Premier League and the Champions League.” Manchester City have landed £60million Riyad Mahrez and intend to sign another midfielder before Thursday’s deadline.

Liverpool have signed £65m Brazil keeper Alisson, £43m midfielder Fabinho, £13m Xherdan Shaqiri and £52m Naby Keita, while Chelsea paid £57m for midfielder Jorginho.

Manchester United splashed out £52m for midfielder Fred and £19m on full-back Diogo Dalot and Arsenal’s new recruits include £26m midfielder Lucas Torreira and £17m defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

Rose added: “Obviously City and Liverpool have spent big. United are trying to spend a little bit more and Chelsea have spent a bit.

“So its going to be difficult for us.

“I don’t know what summer targets Tottenham have in mind, if they are planning to buy anyone before the window shuts.

“It just depends on what we do between now and Thursday.

“But the squad we have is more than capable of competing with any of the top four, top five teams.”
