Grief of pond death girl’s best friends
CLOSE friends of a teenage girl whose body was pulled from a pond have told of their heartbreak.
Police yesterday officially identified the girl as Teya Davies, 14, and her mother released a photo.
A fundraising page raised more than £4,000 for Teya’s family.
Its creator Michelle Spilling posted: “Our girls are heartbroken so we can only imagine what her family are going through.”
Teya, of Widnes, Cheshire, is thought to have fallen into the water in the town’s Clincton Wood on Saturday.
One local father, who asked not to be named, said that the pond was poorly maintained.
It was not suitable for swimming as it was full of “weed, silt and rubbish”.
