THOMAS BJORN has backed Rory McIlroy to go “boom” and explode into another winning streak.

The world No.5 (left) has won only once this season – and claimed his last Major at the 2014 US PGA in a hat-trick of tournament titles.

The European Ryder Cup captain said: “I have watched him play so much over the last few months, and I just think he’s in a place where it’s going to go: ‘Boom’, and then he’s going to start winning a lot of golf tournaments again, and that’s pretty good fun to watch. I’ll pay money to go and watch him.”
