Enders is dooming down

-

WE’VE had a fatal stabbing, an attempted drug rape, and a homeless woman knocked up by her cousin’s husband.

And that’s just been the past few months. Before then we had a killer child, a cot death baby swap and probably more murders than Detroit. So as anyone can

It’s The One with the Terrified Boyfriend… Corrie’s Lucy Fallon, 22, couldn’t resist trying on a wedding dress in the mock-up of the chapel Ross and Rachel married in at FriendsFest in Manchester.

But she then posted the picture with a message to her boyfriend, IT manager Tom Leech, 27, saying: “What do u think of this one?”

Give him his due, he didn’t run a mile. Instead, he got us all in a flutter, conceding: “Yeah credit where it’s due, v good. You do look fetching in white.”

Could they be any cuter? Here’s something to put you off your breakfast. No, not Gregg Wallace posing in his workout shorts, but his healthy-eating message. The MasterChef judge has urged fans to swap unhealthy treats for leaner alternatives after losing three stone on a weight-loss drive. Gregg is clearly kicking up his regime before having to sample all those dishes for the new MasterChef this month. But we can reveal that the TV presenter’s three ex-wives are weight-loss experts, too. They have all shed an unwanted 11 stone or so. CHAOS Stephen Mangan struggles see, what EastEnders really needed to get back to its days of monster ratings is a good old dose of… misery.

Thankfully, we now have the good news that ‘Enders has snapped up as its new executive producer – the same woman credited/blamed for making Corrie so dark. During her three years at the helm Kate, 39, pictured above,

Hang Ups, C4 ne of the drawbacks with this job is that you sometimes come across a TV programme that stars lots of people whose work you enjoy, which turns out to be a letdown.

That happened with last night’s first episode of C4’s new comedy Hang Ups – which is a UK adaptation of Lisa Kudrow’s successful American sitcom Web Therapy.

This version stars Stephen Mangan and a host of big names

Ooversaw Aidan Connor’s suicide, the sexual grooming of Bethany Platt and David Platt’s rape. So one can only fear for the long-suffering Albert Square residents. Yesterday Kate, who will also oversee Casualty and Holby City, said: “I’m excited… I can’t wait to get stuck in and tell some unmissable including David Tennant, Celia Imrie, Charles Dance and Richard E Grant.

I know it can be dangerous to pass judgment on a new comedy based on the strength of its opening episode.

But unless this one quickly becomes more amusing and much less irritating, I can’t see me sticking with it. There was stories.” While BBC Studios content chief Mark Linsey added: “Kate is a dynamic, passionate and creative storyteller and I couldn’t be more thrilled.”

Of course, while much mirth will be made of whether Walford can handle more bleakness, insiders say it could be key to putting the soap back on top.

Let’s just hope Kate spreads the pain around this time – because she certainly

had it in for the Platts. just too much going on. I’m guessing it was made that way so we could appreciate how manic Mangan’s character Richard Pitt’s life was – you could say he was up to his R Pitts.

He was starting a new online therapy business, working from an overcrowded and smugly middle-class London family home. It could not have screamed “C4 sitcom” any more loudly if it had tried.

The general chaos meant things were not exactly running smoothly. The problem was it didn’t make for relaxing, or even engaging, viewing.

It didn’t help that one or two of the cameos appeared to be in full-on luvvie mode.

I’m sure some viewers will have found it hilarious to see Miranda star Sarah Hadland’s character firing F-words at her cats. To me it just felt OTT for OTT’s sake – and that’s never a good sign.
