Turn our UKTV shows back on

-

With Virgin Media axing several popular channels, they are reneging on contracts people have signed up to for 18 months without then dropping their subscriptions.

What a hypocrite Virgin boss David Bouchier is to say that UKTV are demanding inflated sums of money. If ever a company could be accused of holding its subscribers to ransom, it’s Virgin Media.

Every year they fleece lifelong, loyal customers by seeking new contracts with price hikes. This leads to us having to cut services to get what we want to watch within our budget. Virgin must get its own house in order before accusing other TV providers and I’m sure millions of customers will back me on this. Neil Atherton St Helens, Merseyside

It is an absolute disgrace that Virgin Media can act in such a highhanded way. Did they ask their customers which channels they want to watch? No, so instead of good quality British and Australian TV we get more American rubbish. I doubt Richard Branson takes any interest in the way the company treats its customers these days, but is more than happy to rake in his share of the profits. It’s time there were decent alternatives to Virgin and Sky. Mick Waites Portsmouth

I am disgusted with Virgin Media. I have been a customer since the beginning and have never been so badly treated. In fact, I am paying more since the channels were removed. I’ve repeatedly tried to contact them to get my package reduced and was offered a £10 per month reduction for 12 months.

I have spent hours trying to speak to someone only to get put to through to Mumbai. I’m going grey trying to sort this out. S Holden, Stockport, Gtr Manchester

I am disgusted at the way Virgin Media and UKTV are handling this dispute. At the end of the day, it’s the customers who are losing out and paying so much money for a vastly reduced package.

It’s time to resolve the situation and for Virgin to reinstate the UKTV channels or risk losing their customers. Sue Guildford East London OPINIONS Actress Sally Dynevor

It appears that Virgin Media expect UKTV to accept a huge reduction in their fees, but when this backfires and channels are withdrawn Virgin don’t then reduce fees for their customers.

In fact, it appears they increase the price of their bundle packages instead. Enough said. Clive Taylor, Wigan, Gtr Manchester

I would like to add our names to the list of people objecting to Virgin Media withdrawing 10 channels. It is most annoying and very limiting. We love the Drama channel, Dave and Gold. These show our type of programmes and it has restricted our viewing. Pat and Alan Bramwell Wirral, Merseyside

With Virgin Media’s uncaring attitude towards its millions of customers who enjoyed the classic BBC comedies on Gold, why doesn’t the BBC introduce a vintage comedy channel? Virgin Media, you are a disgrace to business. DJ Sewell Redcar Teesside
