POTTERS BOSS GETS SNAPPY

- BY BRENDAN McLOUGHLIN

GARY ROWETT has warned his Stoke side that they must “snap out” of their relegation hangover.

The Potters were pre-season promotion favourites following the drop last term, but lost 3-1 to Leeds in their Championship opener. And boss Rowett (left) said: “Sometimes teams who go down can take time to settle.

“History proves that and we don’t want to be one of those sides. “We need to snap out of it quickly and gain some momentum.”

Striker Saido Berahino is set to return to Stoke’s squad, and Rowett added: “There is a very good chance he will be in the 18 this week. It was not his fault that he wasn’t involved last week. He is training really well.”

But he said deadline-day arrival from Swansea, Sam Clucas, is some way off fitness. Rowett said: “I think Sam is probably four weeks away from being ready.”
