DYCHE SHATTERED

-

SEAN DYCHE admits this summer’s price hike for players has upset him.

The Burnley boss (below) said: “It’s been the worst transfer window I’ve experienced.

“Even some of the big, big clubs haven’t got the players they wanted.

“And it’s been even worse for us.

“We’re spending pretty decent money now – if you’re looking at £10million and £15m – and yet you can’t scratch the surface with that.

“It’s very frustrating and difficult, and I’ve very pleased the window has closed.” The Clarets were travelling home from Turkey yesterday after holding out for a 0-0 draw with Istanbul Basaksehir in the first leg of their Europa League thirdround qualifying clash. Dyche was content with the result, but clearly disappointed Burnley could not add to their three new signings – Ben Gibson, Matej Vydra and Joe Hart.

Striker Chris Wood could return after an infected insect bite.

And Dyche must choose in goal between Hart and Tom Heaton, who is available again following a calf injury.
