A BABY was born at the crash site where seven children were among 41 hurt when a coach overturned and hit a barrier.
A major incident was declared as fire crews got to work with cutting gear.
Three victims suffered serious injuries and 38 were treated for minor injuries.
But one 999 crew was called to deliver the baby boy in one of the cars stuck in the M25 traffic jam.
At 4pm 15 ambulances and a helicopter attended the scene where the Green’s of London private-hire coach lay on its side, balancing on the barrier.
The back window was removed and ladder placed in front so the walking wounded could climb out. Passengers in blankets were treated by the road.

Junction Three anti-clockwise were closed on the M25, as was the exit slip road, causing major delays.
The coach was returning to London when it overturned near Swanley, Kent. It is believed passengers were returning from a day out in Portsmouth.
Fire officers later said two people had to be cut free by crew from the heavy rescue team.
Soon traffic queues were stretching back five miles, the Highways Agency said.
The road was not expected to fully reopen until nearly midnight.
Police said later: “No serious injuries. Proud to see all emergency services working so effectively.
“And just to make things interesting a baby boy was born at scene.”
