Ward worker ‘kill attempt’

A HOSPITAL worker allegedly tried to suffocate an elderly patient with a plastic bag before claiming he was playing “peekaboo”.

The woman, 79, was found by nurses in “respiratory distress” on a ward at Broadgreen Hospital in Liverpool and has been moved to a nursing home.

A male hospital worker, 31, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on July 22 has been bailed.

The hospital said its patients should not be “concerned for their safety.”
