...for healthy food shopping

-

There are plenty of things you can do to eat more healthily – one of them is to buy healthy foods. Making healthier meals needn’t cost a lot of money:

Plan your meals ahead and make a shopping list based on the ingredients for each meal. This way you can avoid filling your trolley with things you don’t need.

When you’re in the supermarket, look at the labels and try to swap to healthier versions which are lower in salt, fat and sugar.

Fresh, canned, dried, frozen and juiced fruit and veg all count towards your five a day. Frozen is cheaper than fresh, quick to use and lasts a lot longer, so you can save money in the long run.

When you’re shopping with your kids, make a game of it by asking them to find the healthy food on your list. It will not only save time, but will teach them about healthy eating along the way.
