JURGEN’S IN HIGH COMMAND

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

REDS boss Jurgen Klopp claims he has never been afraid of anyone – because he is so tall.

The German does not feel physically intimidated as at almost 6ft 4in in height he believes his stature helps give him natural authority.

Klopp, who was a centre-half as a player, warns that managers must not be scared, even in difficult situations such as informing player he is no longer needed.

Asked if he is ever afraid, he told France Football: “No, never.

“Fear is never a good thing, even when you have to tell a player that you are not renewing his contract.

“I think I have a natural authority. I have a voice that carries and I am 6ft 3.6ins tall.

“Apart from Virgil van Dijk (above) and perhaps Joel Matip, who are nice men, no one is bigger than me.”
