ENGLAND’S struggling cricketers spent an extra day in the nets after a fourth Ashes Test hiding from the Aussies.

Even skipper David Gower – bowled without offering a shot in his latest outing – was not spared the extra practice.

“We are grasping at straws,” admitted manager Micky Stewart. “There isn’t time to work on technical faults.”
