NEWCASTLE defender DeAndre Yedlin escaped a serious knee injury during Saturday’s Premier League defeat by Tottenham.
The 25-year-old American international did not finish the game at St James’ Park and Toon boss Rafa Benitez had been waiting anxiously for an update on the extent of the injury.
However, tests showed that the damage was not as bad as first feared and, while Yedlin remains a doubt for this weekend’s trip to promoted Cardiff, he will soon be back in action.
