Good times for Alexis

As celeb supporters go, having Nile Rodgers as a mate is pretty cool, so I’m expecting big things when pianist Alexis Ffrench’s new album Evolution drops on August 31.

The pair chinwagged at the Classical Brits where Alexis performed.

He told me: “Nile was talking to me about education and the opportunities he hadn’t felt he’d been presented with as a young guitarist growing up, and how there were very few black musicians at the time.

“He was talking about how inspiring it was to see more black musicians in the classical space.

“He’s so giving and generous with his time and his talent – and what a talent it is.”

Can’t deny that.
