Rod, 73, ‘needs to be cranked up like a vintage car’ in sex life with wife Penny
ROD Stewart has said sex is still “great” at 73 – but he sometimes just prefers a cuddle.
The former womanising singer is now happily married with wife Penny and admitted nights of passion are less frequent these days. He said: “I need a bit of a start on the handle now, like a vintage car. Sex becomes more spiritual as one gets older. I love sex with my wife, but I love just giving her a hug.
“Every night we have a kiss and a hug, and that doesn’t always lead to sex but it’s still lovely. When I’m away from her a long time and I don’t get a hug, I really miss it. And I’m a great one for giving my children a cuddle. Although my dad loved me, and I loved him, we didn’t hug.
“In the last 15 years of his life I taught him to hug. Now I pass it on to my kids and we hug all the time.”
Rocker Rod has two sons with Penny – seven-year-old son Aiden and Alastair 12. Speaking in Event magazine, Rod revealed there is one night from his womanising days that still haunts him.
He said: “Oh man, Australia, 1973, there’s this astonishing-looking specimen at the bar, an absolutely gorgeous woman.
“So we had dinner and we ended in the same room. Then there was the unveiling.
“She still had her knickers on but something was awry. ‘She’ was a bloke.
“I said, ‘No, mate, you’ve got the wrong one here. On your bike!’.”
