SLOW players are on a final warning – with naming and shaming to start this week.

The authorities are acutely conscious that pedestrian potters are a huge turn-off for the viewing public.

And any pro with an average shot time of over 30 seconds will be publicly shown up after the current series of qualifying matches for next month’s China Championship.

WPBSA chairman Jason Ferguson said: “Anyone with over 30-second average is slow. We have been monitoring players for some time.” Fines are likely to be the first punishment.
