Sick betrayal

THERESA May has not just abandoned a Tory promise to get rid of mixed sex hospital wards but gone in total reverse.

Close on 15,000 patients had to share wards with the opposite sex last year, a betrayal of 2010 and 2015 Tory manifesto promises.

Uncaring May does not seem to worry about stripping NHS patients of their privacy.

What might be acceptable occasionally in exceptional emergencies is not OK when it happens because of poor management or because austerity cuts have forced hospitals to shed beds.

Until the Tories sort simpler problems such as the banning of mixed wards they have no chance of finding a cure for the bigger issues.
