Bridge notes help prevent 11 death leaps
AT least 11 lives have been saved thanks to caring notes placed on motorway bridges to stop people committing suicide.
The handwritten messages of support were tied to 20 bridges in the North West and West Yorkshire by Bridge The Gap campaign volunteers.
One note says: “You are amazing, you are brave, you are strong.”
The scheme was launched by mum-of-two Lisa Barnes, 46, after she considered killing herself.
Lisa, from Hyde, Gtr Manchester, says 11 people have been in touch telling her how they were helped by the messages.
She said: “That is 11 people here now who may not have been. It is amazing to know what has already been achieved.”
