TV presenter AJ Odudu thought she’d be married with five kids by the age of 30. But as she hits the big birthday, things haven’t quite worked out that way. “I mean I don’t even have a boyfriend so I’m nowhere near!” she laughs.
This is a funny documentary with a serious side as AJ puts her love life in the hands of her hilarious mum Florence, who wants to find her a husband in her native Nigeria. “Your way of finding a man hasn’t worked and the clock is ticking!” says Florence, who had an arranged marriage with AJ’s dad 40 years ago.
It’s a daunting thought, to fly halfway across the world to meet random men to possibly marry, but as AJ points out: “We’re now meeting strangers on social media and dating apps, so it’s no different.”
AJ and Florence make a formidable team, both with a wicked sense of humour.
But will AJ find true love?
