CHANCELLOR Philip Hammond faces demands to help hard-working families after a £2billion boost in tax revenue.

The Government got more in taxes than it spent last month, in the biggest July surplus since 2000.

It led Unite boss Len McCluskey to say: “This is the day that mindless Conservati­ve austerity should be brought to a close once and for all.”
