PAUL CLEMENT has called on his Reading players to rise to the challenge of facing his former club Blackburn tonight.

Royals are joint-bottom after three opening defeats — and play another away game, at Aston Villa, on Saturday. Clement, who coached at Ewood Park in 2011-12, said: “It’s a hard game and everyone has to be absolutely up for it, especially mentally.

“Blackburn is always a difficult place to play. I know what the atmosphere can be like there – they’re buoyant after coming back up into the division.”
