STEVE BRUCE has challenged all-comers to name a fitter 33-year-old than Alan Hutton.

The right-back (above) steps out against Brentford tonight with his boss’ praises ringing in his ears.

Bruce said: “He’s grasped one thing more than most – that when you get a bit older you have to work harder at it because it doesn’t come as naturally as when you were 24.

“There can’t be a better 33-year-old physically, I think that would be impossible.

“If I had 11 players like Alan, with his desire, enthusiasm and work ethic, I’d take that every time.

“I think I’ve picked him more than any other player since being here. He epitomises what I want from my players – and I love his attitude.”
