Time for Meghan’s dad to keep mum

-

Thomas Markle should learn to behave with a little decorum. Both Meghan and her mother have behaved with dignity which has endeared them to the British public and Meghan has conducted herself impeccably and is proving to be a great asset to the Royal Family.

Thomas Markle would do well to follow her example and stop expecting everyone to feel sorry for him. Take a leaf out of Doria’s book, Thomas, keep a low profile, let the dust settle and then perhaps this whole unhappy, undignified affair can be quietly and amicably settled to the satisfaction of all concerned.

I think Meghan should hold out her hand when she travels to America to see her mother (Mirror, August 20). Her dad is an old man who is in poor health and I fear if she doesn’t heal the rift with him she may come to regret it later on.

Also, it may be a way of shutting him up for good. I do feel sorry for Meghan as this row is overshadowing what should be the happiest time of her life.

People keep going on about Meghan Markle meeting her dad to heal the rift, but why should she? Her dad has made some horrible remarks about her and the Royal Family, so how can she ever be sure that he wouldn’t start blabbing about the conversation they had? I feel really sorry for Meghan as she should be enjoying married life, not worrying about the next lot of bile that he dishes out.

I feel more should have been done by the Royal Family to include Meghan’s father in her new life. He was left alone to cope with his daughter’s fame when not equipped to do so. I also think Meghan herself could perhaps have done more. I’m a pensioner and I lost my father when I was two – I would have given anything to have him in my life.

Meghan Markle’s estranged family seem intent on hurting her and destroying her reputation. Her half-sister comes across as jealous and vindictive, using Megan’s father to make money and sell her tawdry book. And her father should be ashamed of himself – he appears to change his story to suit the moment.

Harry and Meghan should just concentrate on their future. I hope they have a long and happy marriage.

I do wonder if Thomas Markle and Meghan’s half-siblings would be so horrible to her if she hadn’t married Prince Harry. I doubt it. They just want attention. There is one word to describe them – pathetic!

Surely, I can’t be the only person who really doesn’t care what Thomas Markle thinks of his daughter and our Royals?

We have all come across families such as this and none are happy with their lot in life.
