POTS NOT FIRED UP

- BY DAVE ARMITAGE

Stoke v Wigan 8pm

GARY ROWETT is frustrated his Stoke side have stalled on the Championship starting grid.

The Potters were installed in pole position with the bookies after their surprise relegation.

But boss Rowett goes into tonight’s home clash with Wigan still looking for a first victory of the season.

Draws with Brentford and Preston followed on from their 3-1 opening-day defeat at Leeds.

Rowett admits it is hard to swallow after everyone expected they would be among the early pace-setters.

He said: “My frustration is that after last season we wanted to give the fans some positivity.

“Over the summer they were enthused by what we were trying to do and we hoped to hit the ground running. We haven’t done that yet.”
