September’s train misery

RAIL workers will go on strike on every Saturday in September in the dispute over guards on trains.

The RMT union has called 24-hour walkouts on September 15, 22 and 29 on Northern Rail to add to strikes planned for August 25 and September 1 and 8.

Northern’s Richard Allan called the move “incredibly frustrating” while the RMT blamed “the pig-headed attitude of the company”.
