‘Precious art’ £2k on eBay

A MAN allegedly tried to sell a forgery of a lost painting worth millions for two grand on eBay.

Vincent Dyer is accused of claiming it was a Lucian Freud original of fellow artist Francis Bacon.

The 1952 oil has been missing for 30 years after a theft in Germany.

Magistrates in Uxbridge, West London, heard it was “worth several million”.

Dyer, 65, of Greenford, denied fraud and faces a trial at Isleworth crown court on September 19.
