End Faroe whale cull

I totally agree with D Hughesdon (Your Voice, August 21). The pictures of the whale killing in the Faroe Islands were harrowing. This so-called hunt to store food for the winter must be stopped.

These beautiful, helpless and majestic creatures of the sea die an agonising death.

Surely the Faroe Islanders are not that desperate for food? They should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

How much is the Government’s takeover of Birmingham Prison – due to the failure of G4S – going to cost the taxpayer?

Once again we have an example of a failed privatised company sitting back and taking the money while everything falls apart.

The jail fiasco has to be the death knell for the stakeholder economy, so cherished by a wasteful Tory Government.
