PINKY? WE’RE PERKY

Away colours all white with Bielsa

MARCELO BIELSA claims Leeds will still be in the pink when they face Norwich – despite attempts to make them feel off-colour.

The Canaries have painted the away dressing room at Carrow Road pink in a bid to put off visiting sides.

The colour is seen as calming and relaxing and Norwich hope it will quell some of Leeds’ fight.

Bielsa laughed off the mind games and insists it will not affect his unbeaten Championship high flyers.

“The pink colour is linked to women,” said the Leeds boss. “For babies, when they are born, if it’s a boy we give them something blue and if it’s a girl something pink.

“Men can’t say that women are not a source of stimulation, but the stimulation you have between a man and a woman happens when you have a relationship.

“Before a game, you don’t have any colour that has the capacity to weaken the desire for competition.

“Pink is a meaningful colour in a relationship between a man and a woman, but not before a game.”

Barry Douglas also claimed the dressing room would have no affect on the Leeds players.

“That’s mind games,” said the Scotland left-back. “It’s a bit of psychology, but as a professional you go into every game preparing the same way.

“I don’t think the colour of a wall is going to make a dif- ference, certainly not for me and I’m sure the whole squad will be the same.”

Bielsa was more bothered about saying sorry to Hernan Crespo for lying to him when he was Argentina boss.

He admitted telling the young Crespo he was mature to try to boost his confidence as an example of why he always tries to be honest with players.

Although Crespo was hurt when Bielsa later let slip he did not feel he was mature back then, he accepted his fellow Argentinian’s apology.

“I forgave you a long time ago, Marcelo,” said the ex-Chelsea striker.
