It’s a special and rather different episode of the medical drama tonight, focusing on male mental health. And it’s Sacha Levy who’s at the centre of the story. The long-serving surgeon struggles to deal with the death of one of his favourite patients.
Loveable Sacha – a reliable rock for everyone else in the hospital – has had his own battles in the past, losing lovers and friends, and dealing with depression. But, through the use of flashbacks and previously shown scenes from new perspectives, we realise just how long the dedicated doctor has been suffering – and how desperately he’s tried to put a brave face on things.
As he relives his toughest moments, we also see him subtly saying his goodbye to colleagues, who clearly have no idea what he’s going through. As he stands on the roof of the hospital, can anyone get through to him before it’s too late?
