Rice is on the England menu
FROM BACK PAGE plans for the future. Republic of Ireland boss Martin O’Neill revealed that Rice has been approached by the FA and is mulling over a switch.
Rice has represented the Republic three times, but all the games were friendlies so the London-born defender could still play for England.
O’Neill has left Rice out of his latest squad, but hopes he will stay with them. The Ireland boss said: “He is still deliberating. He is a young man.
“England have spoken to him. He is taking time to make his mind up.”
