Law change will save thousands

-

OUR Change the Law for Life campaign calls for everyone in the UK to be a potential donor unless they opt-out. Wales has the system and Scotland will follow.

In February MPs finally voted for the opt-out system in England.

The Bill, which could save thousands, will be scrutinised by MPs before going to the House of Lords and will be known as Max’s Law after Max Johnson, 10, saved by a heart transplant.

Yesterday, athletes and supporters arrived in Birmingham for the 40th British Transplant Games, which raises awareness of the power of transplants. More have been done there than in any other city in Europe. It recently celebrated its 5,000th

liver transplant.
