Do you think you could go a week without lying? Now come on, be honest. We might like to think we’re all pretty truthful souls, only telling the odd white lie here and there to spare other’s feelings, but the reality is we do all tell lies – every single day.
Deception is basically an integral part of human nature. Now pioneering scientists from across Europe have come together to carry out a radical experiment to discover the role of deception and lying in modern day Britain.
They’ve recruited three test subjects – an advertising exec, a parish priest, and a student and online vlogger – and wired them up to ultra-new technology which will make it impossible for them to lie undetected. They are then each challenged to tell nothing but the truth for one whole week, to see what effect always being honest has on their relationships, mental health, and everyday lives.
