YOU’RE STILL THE MAN

Glazers are standing by Mourinho for now.. but he knows Old Trafford fortunes must improve or support will wane

- BY DAVID McDONNELL

JOSE MOURINHO has the backing of the Glazer family to come through his Manchester United crisis.

United have slumped to 13th in the table after back-to-back defeats, however the manager retains the support of the club’s American owners and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward. But

Mourinho knows further defeats could see a shift in that stance.

He takes his United side to Burnley on Sunday, knowing he must produce a win to bring some respite from the negativity that has engulfed him in his third season in charge. But Woodward and the United hierarchy were encouraged by the impressive first-half display against Tottenham on Monday night.

And although United fell apart after the break he was impressed with the solidarity between Mourinho and the fans following the 3-0 defeat.
