How we won stores wars

-

THE Daily Mirror’s Can it! campaign pressured shops into voluntary bans, while lobbying for new laws.

Waitrose was first to ban under-16s. Aldi, Asda, Co-op, Iceland, Lidl, Marks & Spencer, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco followed. Then came Boots, Odeon and Poundland.

But soon the ban will be enforced at every point of sale – by law.
