Hughton soars after suffering ‘Pardew shock’

-

TONY PULIS has spoken of his surprise that Alan Pardew was given his job after West Brom sacked him last November.

Which no doubt made Chris Hughton smile. Hughton was doing a fine rebuilding job at Newcastle in 2010 when, to everyone’s shock, he was replaced by Pardew (left) due to Mike Ashley needing “an individual with more managerial experience to take the club forward”.

As Pardew kicks his heels on his couch a couple of sackings down the line and Newcastle are as far away from a forward direction as ever under Ashley, Hughton is winning all the plaudits for doing another fine job at Brighton.

He who laughs last, laughs loudest, as they say.
