Giroud striking for starting role
OLIVIER GIROUD is ready to go toe-to-toe with Alvaro Morata for a starting role at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea striker Giroud was on the bench for Maurizio Sarri’s first three Premier League games in charge.
But the Frenchman, 31, is pushing hard to start against Bournemouth at home on Saturday – with Morata struggling for form and confidence.
Cesar Azpilicueta said: “Our good start is important after the World Cup, with a new manager, and I’m sure we can work on further improvement.”
