SPURS STAND FIRM
TOTTENHAM could be the first club to reintroduce standing to the top level of English football.
Standing was outlawed at top football matches in the wake of the Hillsborough disaster but football authorities argue that properly-controlled standing can be safe. In June, sports minister Tracey Crouch (below) announced a government review and a conclusion is expected by the end of the year. Spurs, whose new stadium may be finished by then, have specially designed sections of seating that can quickly be converted.
