Just £6 a day left after bills
FOUR in 10 Brits are left with just £6.60 a day to get by on after paying essential bills, a study reveals.
A quarter of us are using credit cards and overdrafts to help, racking up debts of £1,222 a year on average.
More than 60% are ditching luxuries such trips abroad to save cash. It comes as household bills rose £87.50 year-on year in the three months to June.
Nationwide, which did the study, said: “People are cutting back on non-essential spending to make their money go further.”
