PM: Bodyguard a little too close to Home
THERESA May will not watch BBC drama The Bodyguard as it is impossible to “unwind” to.
The PM – who was Home Secretary from 2010 to 2016 – said she only saw 20 minutes of the show, in which a female Home Secretary has an affair with her personal protection officer, before switching off.
Mrs May said: “I watch TV to unwind – I’m not sure a drama about a female Home Secretary is the best way.” The Tory leader is known to like shows including Strictly and US crime drama NCIS.
Meanwhile, Amber Rudd, who quit as Home Secretary in April over Windrush, has said she loves The Bodyguard.
